Antwerp and Brussels with their gourmet food, gothic architure, ale and lace
A two-hour drive takes you to Flanders and the mighty port city of “Antwerp”, its market square and cathedral. After this, we go on to majestic “Brussels”with its royal palace, the European Commission Headquarters, and the notorious ”Manneken Pis”. The 17th century centre with its breathtaking ”Grote Markt” is decorated with the most fabulous gables.
This is a fabulous place for lunch as the Belgians are the gourmets of Europe and Brussels is paved with superb restaurants. Hundreds of delicious beers, most of them brewed locally, come with their own specially shaped glasses and are served in the quaint restaurants and bars.
Have a stroll through the ”Rue Des Bouchers ” where the seafood restaurants have impressive show-tables outside, covered with crushed ice, to show you their amazing assortment of fresh fish and shellfish. |

Brussels is also world famous for mouthwatering rich chocolate, highly appreciated as a tasty souvenir.
Another souvenir worth buying is the high quality of lace, which is displayed in many lace shops throughout the town. Brussels is truly a magnificent town for shopping with a rich diversity of high quality stores and boutiques and there is always time to shop!
